Perched at the corner of Tenth Avenue and 22nd Street—directly across from Clement Clarke Moore Park—Park House Chelsea is a collection of ten meticulously crafted residences by the celebrated architect Annabelle Selldorf, founder of Selldorf Architects. To introduce this quietly monumental building to the market, I led the motion design and video production for a promotional film narrated by Selldorf herself.
Translating Architectural Intent Into Motion
The film centers on an intimate interview with Annabelle Selldorf, whose voice guides the narrative. Her reflections on materiality, proportion, and restraint became the foundation for the visual language: slow, deliberate camera moves, elegantly paced transitions, and textural details that mirror the building’s modernist-inspired design. Motion became a tool not just for communication, but for architectural storytelling. To support sales and digital marketing efforts, I produced four shorter videos designed specifically for social platforms. While derived from the full interview, these one-minute cutdowns function as a series of short videos each highlighting a different architectural
or lifestyle angle to the property.
Across both longform and shortform formats, the motion language is consistent: restrained, elegant, and rooted in architectural storytelling. Slow pans reveal the weight and texture of materials; soft light transitions echo the interiors; and carefully considered typography supports, rather than decorates, the visual narrative.
My goal was to extend Selldorf’s design intent into the medium of motion—creating a suite of films that feel timeless, precise, and reflective of the building’s understated luxury.
